PLAYSTATION 5 COMMERCIAL (2021)

I got to supply the OmniWrench prop for an official Sony PlayStation commercial! I’m humbled to have contributed to this brilliant commercial that is promoting the new Ratchet and Clank game coming to PlayStation 5.

I grew up playing the Ratchet and Clank games on the PlayStation and decided to build one of the weapons from the games. I 3D modelled this from scratch using reference imagery from the games and then designed it for 3D printing and assembly.

I also did my own electronics for it. My setup consists of three strips of Electroluminescent Tape, one for each jaw and then the central junction light panel. The Electroluminescent tape is powered by four AA batteries, which runs into an inverter that illuminates the Electroluminescent tape. Also branching off before the inverter I have my four blue 10mm LEDs which illuminate are the circular light panels on the sides of the jaws. All of this is operated with a latching switch I have recessed into the pommel.
