ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

During my spare time I enjoy working on personal projects which allow me to further grow my skills in CAD software and building. I have an interest in film and thus I like to 3D Model and create replicas of famous movie props and costumes as a hobby.

In an effort to really challenge myself with CAD and Autodesk Inventor I set myself the challenge of creating an accurate replica of the famous Robocop helmet. This was not an easy project to 3D model and involved learning new techniques, but this was a challenge I enjoyed immensely. The organic and odd shape of the overall body presented one of the primary challenges, but through teaching myself further techniques with the freeform shaping tool, I was able to create the model as it appears in the film.

I am now in the process of creating a life size wearable 3D print of the helmet where I’m using my skills in model making to bring it to life. It’s currently in the filling and priming stage. Once this is complete, I can move onto ensuring a smooth finish and apply the final top coats.
